The Expert's Guide to Dog Collars and Harnesses

This month’s blog focuses on different types of collars and harnesses, which I often get asked whether a collar is better than a harness or vice versa. There are so many different types on the market that sometimes, owners don’t know what to buy for the best As a reward based trainer, it goes without saying that I would only advise owners on kind pieces of equipment, but I will go through aversive types of equipment in part 2 of this blog next month, as often owners don’t realise how much harm these harsh pieces of equipment can cause.

Part one of last month’s blog focused on different types of collars and harnesses. There are so many different types on the market that sometimes, owners don’t know what to buy for the best. As a reward based trainer, it goes without saying that I would only advise owners on kind pieces of equipment, but this month I will go through aversive types of equipment, which in this case are all collars, as often, owners don’t realise how much harm these can cause to the dog, not only physically but psychologically too.
