Rescue centres: the good, the bad and the ugly. Your thoughts.

Many dog owners decide to go down the route of rescue centres when taking on a dog. Despite many rescue centres meaning well, their knowledge of 'dogs' is a long way away of what it should be, and that often results in dogs being returned because they didn't take the time to assess them properly. Some others are fantastic and put a lot of work and effort into making sure that they can achieve the best possible match for the dogs and their potential new owners. We would like to discuss your experience with rescue centres in general, you thoughts on it, and what, in your view, would make a good rescue.  Did they do home checks? Were they thorough when checking the compatibility of you and your potential dog? Did they mention any issues they had?
